Stax Mobile: Running a Sale

Step by step instructions on how to run a sale within the iOS and Android versions of the Stax mobile app.

 iOS

  1. Tap the $ symbol from the bottom navigation bar to process a New Payment.
  2. From here, you can Enter an Amount to charge, Choose an Item from your Catalog, or Select a Pending transaction.
    • Select Numpad from the top left corner and enter the amount
    • Select Catalog from the top middle of the screen and choose either an Item or a Discount
    • To process an existing Invoice, select Pending, located within the Catalog.
    • Tap Save within the Shopping Cart to store transaction details for later.
      *If you choose to save for later, you can find the Invoice stored as a draft under the Pending tab. 
  3. Select a Payment Method
    • Tap Mobile Reader to run transactions through your BlueTooth reader.
    • Tap New Payment Method to manually key in a card number.
    • Tap Customer and Existing Payment Method if using a card already stored within the customer profile.
    • Tap Create as Invoice to email the customer with payment details.
  4. Completing the Transaction
    • Swipe/Dip the card if running through the mobile reader and wait for the transaction to successfully authorize.
    • If manually Keying in the transaction, enter cardholder details or use the built-in scanner to take a picture of the card number, then tap Charge and wait for the transaction to successfully authorize.
    • Select Existing Payment Method within the customer profile and wait for the transaction to successfully authorize. Complete the transaction.
    • Enter the customer's email address or phone number to send an email receipt.
Successful payment details can be accessed in the Recent Payments section within your Main Dashboard (within the app) or the More Options icon on the bottom right within your Payments summary.

Android

  1. Tap the $ symbol from the bottom navigation bar to process a New Payment
  2. From here, you can Enter an Amount to charge, Choose an Item from your Catalog, or Select a Pending transaction.
    1. Select Numpad from the top left corner and enter the amount
    2. Select Catalog from the top middle of the screen and choose either an Item or a Discount
    3. Select Pending to process an existing Invoice 
  3. Once ready, select Charge or the Shopping Cart in the top right corner of the screen to review the transaction.
  4. Select a payment method.
    1. If you are manually entering the card information, enter the card number, cardholder name, expiration date, zip code, and CVV, then select New Payment Method and then Charge.
    2. If you are swiping/dipping the transaction with your mobile reader, select Charge
      1. If your mobile reader is not connected yet, please make sure that the reader is on and the blue light is flashing, then select Connect and proceed.
    3. Tap Customer and Existing Payment Method if using a card already stored within a customer profile.
    1. Select Cash if you are accepting a cash transaction, enter the amount supplied and select Charge.

    Send a Receipt.
      1. Enter the email address or phone number of the recipient and tap Yes.

    Successful payment details can be accessed in the Payments section within the More Options icon on the bottom right.
